31 July :- Indian champion Saina Nehwal won the championship in the ongoing World Badminton Championship in China. In the first match, Saina defeated Turkey’s Ali Demirighez 21-17, 21-8 in two straight sets.

Saina, who played her first match in the world championship, had to contend with the rival Ali Demirbug. In the first set Ali made Saina good. In the first few minutes, Ali took a decisive lead of 1-2 points. By the middle of the first set, Ali retained the nominal lead of 11-10. But Sain, who lost the match before mid-season, changed her game. Saina started to crush Ali’s entire experience. With the good use of the drop and smash slip, Saina took the lead in the first set. Ali tried to match Saina but Saina took the first set by 21-17 at the time, taking the lead in the match.
Saina kept her aggressive game from the start of the second set. Ali put a peg around her move. Both good players have seen some good rallies.
