Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu rejected the impeachment motion

Vice President and Rajya Sabha Speaker M. Venkaiah Naidu has rejected the proposal of impeachment granted by other parties including Congress Chief Justice Deepak Mishra. The proposal has rejected the proposal as it is signed by 7 retired MPs. Of the 71 MPs, the proposal included seven retired MPs.

So Naidu has said that the proposal is rejected. According to the legal experts, this proposal is rejected. The notice against the Chief Justices was signed by seven Rajya Sabha members and seven retired MPs. Opponents have also been shocked to reject this proposal.

Earlier, Venkiah Naidu had initiated a discussion on the notices given by Congress and other parties including Congress. On Sunday, he asked the Attorney General K. Venugopal had consulted with the constitution and the legal counsel. Constitutional expert Subhash Kashyap, P. K. Malhotra had sought advice from other legal experts. While Naidu is soon discussing the decision on the opposition’s notice, Naidu has rejected the proposal.

Naidu, after considering the seriousness of the case, canceled his visit to the city of Hyderabad and took a meeting with lawmakers. Former Lok Sabha Speaker Subhash Kashyap, former Secretary Malhotra and former Judicial Magistrate Sanjay Singh were discussing this matter with them. Naidu, former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudarshan Reddy had also learned the opinion. The proposal has now been rejected.

Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad had proposed this initiative. Meeting the MPs of Congress, CPM, CPI, NCP, Samajwadi Party and BSP, Azad had got support from the opposition for the proposal. According to the Judge Inquiry Act, 1968, to bring an impeachment motion against the judges, 100 members of the Lok Sabha or 50 MPs in Rajya Sabha are required to sign.

The debate on the impeachment motion against Deepak Mishra was first made in January. CPM Secretary Sitaram Yechury had first commented on this. Yechury had raised the issue of impeachment motion after four senior judges of the Supreme Court took a press conference for the first time in history. The Congress had said that all opposition parties need to get together for this proposal. However, this proposal has been delayed.
