The Indian women’s badminton team, led by Saina Nehwal, beat Australia 4-1 in the Uber Cup badminton tournament. After losing 1-4 to Canada in their opening match, the Indian women beat Australia with a strong comeback.
In the opening match, Saina Nehwal beat her opponent 21-14 21-19 in a 1-0 lead. In the doubles match, Meghna-Purvisa Ram Jodi lost 13-21, 16-21. However, the Indian women continued their offensive game without losing any of these defeats. Vaishnavi Reddy gave India a lead again by defeating her rival, Jennifer Tam 21-17, 21-13. After that, Sanyogita Ghorpade and Prajakta Sawant got a 21-19, 21-11 victory in the second game and gave India a 3-1 lead.
In the final match, Anurah Prabhudesai won a match of 21-6, 21-7 in the last match. The Indian women’s team will play against Japan in this tournament. It will be decided whether the Indian team will play in the next round or not.
