Mumbai:01June:- The State Government has taken a big step to increase the use of electric vehicles (e-Vaikal) and in this regard Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Environment, Forest Minister Dr. In the presence of Harshvardhan, five important MoUs were signed with Maharashtra Government and Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra and ESL. Chief Minister Mr.F.D. Fadnavis has announced that the use of e-Vehicle will be increased for public use and for public transport in next metropolis.
Today, the State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the use of e-Vaikal in public offices and public transport services, charging centers, as per the policy regarding the use of state-run electric vehicles (e-Vaikal). Public Works Minister Chandrakant Patil, Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeeshwar, Executive Director of UN Environment Program (UNEP) Eric Solheim and others were present on the occasion.
State Government Memorandum of Understanding for the Use of Electric Vehicles
Mahindra Group and Industry Department, on the cooperation agreement, Additional Chief Secretary Sunil Porwal and Managing Director of Mahindra and Mahindra Dr. Pawan Goenka signed it. Mahindra and Mahindra Company will increase the production capacity for the production of electric cars in Chakan. It will also make spare parts for the vehicles. The agreement between Mahindra and Mahindra and Transport Department was signed by Dr.Goyenka and Principal Secretary Shrikant Singh. Under this agreement, Mahindra will cooperate with the company government to provide electric cars for various public and private transport systems. The Transport Department today signed the agreement with Tata Motors to provide 1000 electric vehicles to the state government. Under this agreement, Tata Motors will set up a hundred charging centers in the state for power-driven vehicles in collaboration with Tata Power. On this agreement, Tata Motors Managing Director Guinter Bushchek signed the signature by Principal Secretary Shrikant Singh.
Public Works Department and General Administration Department have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). The ISSL will provide the public operating and general administration department for charging facilities for electric cars and these vehicles. These contracts were signed by EASL on behalf of the company’s Managing Director, Saurabh Kumar and Principal Secretary Public Works Department Ashish Kumar Singh and Principal Secretary General Administration Rajgopal Deora.
At this time, the agreement was signed between United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and E.S.L. (UNEP) and EESL. According to the United Nations Environment Program Environment Department, EASL will fund the implementation of the use of electric vehicles in the state.
