Ramesh Yadav, resident of Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, who is participating in the yatra, said, “There is huge anger among farmers. How long will it continue to take the journey? We are demanding to apply the Swaminathan report. Farmers are ineligible due to increasing rates of petrol, diesel and electricity across the country. The government has issued an order that the 10-year-old tractor can not be taken in the field. Where can we buy a new tractor to buy? Many farmers have not received any sugarcane payment. Farmers are getting sick day by day.
