Many petitions have also been filed in the Nashik-Nagar dams to prevent Marathwada from releasing water and also to release Marathwada water from dams in Nashik-Nagar. The Bombay High Court had earlier clarified that during the hearing on the petition, the court did not have any private property, hence no one can claim it. “It is the only state government on water that the government can take a decision on sharing water allocation,” he said. “Even if there is water shortage or drought conditions, water can not be left for religious or similar reasons,” the High Court had said.
