New Delhi : 07 June :- 2,323 crores 62 lacs proposed for the Upper Pravara (Nilvande-II) irrigation project in the state have been approved by Central Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Defense Ministry.
The Advisory Committee headed by Union Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Ministry, UP Singh, on Wednesday approved proposals for 4 projects related to flood management, including two big projects of six states and Union Territories, 84 thousand 748 crore. This includes the big irrigation projects of Kalambeshwar in Telangana and the Upper Pravara of Maharashtra.
Under the project, 2 lakh 12 thousand 758 acre area under irrigation project will be irrigated and drinking water is available in this area. For this project, the proposal of Rs 2,223.26 million was sent to the Central Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Defense Ministry for approval. The proposal has been approved by the Consultative Committee of the Ministry.
The projects approved by Ministry include major irrigation projects of Kalameshwar and Telangana in Maharashtra, Mahananda flood management scheme in Bihar, Sheer block project in Himachal Pradesh, Yunnam flood protection work in Pondicherry and Ghatal scheme in West Bengal.
