The Basli River on the state highway 19 in Mehgaon was flowing over. There was water flowing on the bridge. Despite the speed of the river’s water, Patteria tried to take it over the van bridge. The van did not survive in the acceleration of water and it started moving. In the van, seven family members of Porteria traveled. At the same time the villagers saved three of the van. But unfortunately, the four died. The deceased included Om Prakash Pateria, his wife Lata and the boy and the girl. Three of the survivors were admitted to the hospital in Mehgaon. The heartache is expressed because of the death of four of the family.
The dam over the Basil river has overflowed. So all the bridges under the dam have gone under water. There is 10 to 12 feet of water on the bridge going from Mehga to Jhansi. So the traffic on this route was closed. The police had even barricaded them. However, the driver of Porteria removed barricades from the van bridge. Four out of 7 people in the van had fallen asleep.
