The BCCI will announce the Indian team for the Asia Cup in UAE on September 15. Chief of the Selection Committee M. S. K. Under the chairmanship of Prasad, a meeting will be held at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai’s Wankhede ground. India has been included in the Group A for this tournament and Pakistan will also be in India. The rest of the team will qualify for the qualifying round. Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are included in Group B.
According to sources, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will retain his place in the team as wicketkeeper. Rishabh Pant, instead of Dinesh Karthik, is expected to get a place in the squad as an alternative wicketkeeper. Apart from this, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is considered fit because of his fitness in the team. Yuswendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are expected to be part of the spin bowling attack. The Indian team is the Asian champion defender, so this year all the attention will be on whether India will retain its title.
