After coming out to be a Gujarati lesson in the book of Geography of Marathi medium, the state’s education department has indicated to take action against the printer. State Education Minister Vinod Tawde said this in the Legislative Council.
Last week, NCP MLA Sunil Tatkare had pointed out that there is a Gujarati lesson in Marathi books in the Legislative Council. In the sixth geography book, seven pages were appeared in Gujarati. NCP had raised the criticism against the government. The protesters had demanded that the government should disclose whether this government is doing Gujaratiship of the state.
On Monday, Education Minister Vinod Tawde gave a statement in the Legislative Council. Maharashtra State Board of textbook production and research and Pune (balabharati) by Marathi, English, Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, and Telugu languages are Sindhi or eight multilingual printing 12 million. In the year 2018-19, 114 printers in the state have 92% of the total printing and 28 printing presses of the state have done 8% printing.
Printing of geography books of sixth grade was assigned to 11 printing presses. One lakh copies of this are printed on the printed card printed in the shloka print city of Ahmedabad. While constructing this book from the respective printer, the possibility of the pages of the Gujarati book can not be ruled out in the Geography book of Marathi. The disclosure will be sought from the press. The provision of action against the book on the printing press of the book is in terms of the terms and conditions. Accordingly, action will be taken against the shloka print city, said Tawde.
