In the meeting of Samajwadi Party’s National Executive yesterday, party senior leader Ramgopal Yadav said that the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections should be held by ballot paper instead of EVMs. If this is not done then the agitation will be made by the party. Apart from this, the demand will be pressurized on the Election Commission after discussing with other parties.
Meanwhile, during the last few days in the country, the opposition parties have alleged that they have been tortured in EVMs. In the subsequent elections, EVMs were held responsible only for the defeat of the parties. In addition, after the BJP got a clear majority in Uttar Pradesh elections, BSP and SP had changed the EVMs. After the elections in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also raised the issue of FERFR issue in EVM.
