02 July :- A suicide bomber blew himself up in a city located in the eastern part of Afghanistan, in which at least 19 people lost their life. These include many Sikhs. Officials gave this information. This incident of violence has shaken the whole country.
Governor’s spokesman Atulullah Khogyani said that the attack happened in a market located just a few hundred meters away from the governor’s province, where President Ashraf Ghani was holding a meeting. He told that out of 19 dead, 12 are Sikhs and Hindus. 20 other people were also injured There is an atmosphere of mourning everywhere in the hospital.
Provincial Health Director Najibullah Kamwal confirmed the killing of 19 people, mostly Sikhs. It is not clear who was targeted in the attack. Home Ministry spokesman Najib Danish confirmed that a suicide bomber had carried out the attack. In this troubled province, there have been several deadly attacks in recent times. Gani’s spokesperson said that the President is still in Nangharhar but there is no such threat to him. Gani reached Jalalabad to inaugurate a hospital this morning under his two-day visit to this troubled province.
This attack took place at a time when one day before the gunman had instructed Afghan security forces to launch an offensive campaign against the Taliban after the ceasefire imposed by the government.
