Guwahati / Agartala / Imphal: 20 June :- In the northeast, there was considerable improvement in flood situation except Assam. With the death of six more people in Assam, the number of people killed in the flood-related incidents increased to 31. 5.64 lakh people affected by floods in Nagaon, Hozai, Kachad, Karimganj and Halakandi districts are affected.
According to a report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), four people were killed in the worst affected Karimganj district, whereas two people died in Kachhad district so far. With this, the number of dead in the state reached 20.

Apart from Assam, states like Tripura and Manipur are also battling floods. Three people have been killed due to the flood in Tripura. More than 40 thousand people are trapped in 189 relief camps. 4 lakh people have become homeless in Assam.
Pranav Jyoti Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of the North-East Frontier Railway said that the train service on the Lumding-Badarpur section was stalled due to the landslide between Bandharkhal Damcha station. After the death of a person due to flood in Imphal West district of Manipur, the total number of dead has increased to seven.

It has been reported in the report that the number of houses damaged by floods has increased to 22,624 in Manipur. Over 1.8 lakh people have been affected by the flood. In Mizoram, the situation has improved slightly due to the decrease in water level in the Thalwang and Langki rivers.
Officials of the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department said that water level is decreasing in Talwang and Langki rivers in Lunglei district but more than 500 families have been displaced.
