14 July :-
The Calcutta High Court summoned Congress senior leader Shashi Tharoor on his statement on ‘Hindu Pakistan’. The lawyer Sumit Chaudhary filed a petition in the High Court and has lodged an objection to this statement of the Congress leader.
It has been said in the petition that Tharoor’s statement has hurt religious sentiments and has insulted the constitution. The court has asked the Congress leader to appear before August 14. Sumit Chaudhary told Media’Shashi Tharoor’s statement has hurt my feeling. He can not compare the democratic country like India to the Islamic country of Pakistan. They have insulted the constitution. That’s why I filed a case in court. ”
Significantly, Tharoor said while attacking the BJP that if BJP wins in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, then the country will become a ‘Hindu Pakistan’. Addressing a program in Thiruvananthapuram, he said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party wins, then it will write a new constitution, which will lead the country to the path to becoming Pakistan, where the rights of minorities are not respected.
This statement of Shashi Tharoor has got a lot of chaos in the corridor. After being attacked by BJP, Tharoor’s statement shook the Congress and instructed his leaders to think carefully. Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala had said that in the last four years, Modi Government has created an atmosphere of division, fundamentalism, hatred, intolerance and polarization. Congress, on the other hand, has been advocating goodwill in India’s multiplicity of civilization, diversity, different religions and sects.
They said, ‘India’s values and basic principles ensure our participation in civilization and keep us separate from divisive ideas from Pakistan. All Congress leaders will have to understand their historical responsibilities and choose words and idioms in order to reject the politics of hatred of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
