26 July :- Raman Magsaysay Award for the year was given by Phungsuk Wangdhu, Real Life, which is Sonam Wangchuk. Based on Aamir Khan’s ‘Three Idiots’ film, Phungsuk Wangdoo is based on the character Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk has made tremendous changes in areas such as education, science, and other areas like Ladakh.

Sonam Wangchuk made a remarkable change in education system in remote areas of Ladakh, created ice stupa over water scarcity, and inspired millions of people / children to experiment, innovation. Dr. Bharat watwani, along with Sonam Wangchuk, has also been selected for Ramon Magsaysay Award.

Sonam Wangchuk and Bharat watwani, have been awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award this year. The Magazines Awards are considered as the Nobel Prize in Asia. Wangchuk took his degree in engineering in 1988 and started educational and cultural programs for students in remote areas like Ladakh. At that time, 95 percent of students in Ladakh failed to go to government exams.

In 1994, Wangchuk launched the Operation New Hope program for educational reforms. Under this program, he has trained 700 teachers till date. As a result, in 1996, only 5% of students passed the examination in Ladakh in 1996, 75% of the students passed the SSC examination in 2015.

Bharat  watwani, gave support to thousands of psychiatrists who wandered on the road. He was treated free of charge and had a meeting with his family. Sonam Wangchuk was selected for his Magsaysay Award for his outstanding contribution in nature, culture and education.

Dr. Bharat  watwani, and his wife were brought to the private clinic by those who wandered on the streets of Kaffal. Treat them free of cost. Dr. watwani, provided water and shelter for free food to such patients. He went on to treat his mentality and met with his family.
