Congress has called for a shutdown on Monday to protest against the huge hike in petrol, diesel prices, inflation to the city. MNS has supported the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by the Congress. 10.30 am this morning MNS chief Raj Thakre announced that Mumbai-Thane leader, general secretary, vice-president and divisional chief met in Mumbai and MNS will be participating in this shutdown tomorrow.
From 9 am to 3 pm, the Congress has called for ‘Bharat Bandh’. Raj Thackeray gave a statement after a meeting with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists who would support the ‘Bandh Band’ on the road. Raj Thackeray has urged the workers to take care of ‘Bandh Band’ on the road, but MNS activists will not support any such public property.
Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam and NCP spokesman Nawab Malik had convened a joint press conference on Saturday to invite all opposition parties, trade unionists, taxis, rickshaw-pullers, shopkeepers and businessmen in the bandh called as a protest against the anti-people policies of the central government. . Raj Thackeray has responded that Shiv Sena and MNS, who took part in the protest against the various policies of the central government, should also join the bandh.
