New Delhi: 13  jun :- In the Iftar party hosted by Congress President Rahul Gandhi, several leaders of opposition parties, including former President Pranab Mukherjee and Pratibha Patil and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, attended. Those who joined the party were former Vice-President Hamid Ansari, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, JD (U) rebel leader Sharad Yadav, Trinamool Congress’s Dinesh Trivedi, RJD’s Manoj Jha, BSP’s Satish Mishra, JDS’s Danish Ali, DMK’s Kanimoi, JMM Hemant Soren, DP Tripathi of NCP and Badruddin Ajmal of AIUDF were chief. Significantly, after the Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in ceremony, once again Rahul’s Ikhtaar party has seen a glimpse of opposition unity.

In this iftar, all senior leaders of the Congress are seen. Pratib Mukherjee, Pratibha Patil, Hamid Ansari, Sitaram Yechury, Satish Mishra and Dinesh Trivedi appeared on the table of Congress president during the Iftar party. In the political corridors, this iftar is being seen as an extended step towards opposition solidarity.

Significantly, the involvement of Pranab Mukherjee in the Iftar party of Congress party is of particular importance in the sense that a few days ago, the former President had joined a program of RSS. With this, many Congress leaders and their daughter Sharmishtha Mukherjee raised questions. Congress had organized Iftar party after two years interval. Iftar party at Taj Palace Hotel Former President Pranab Mukherjee gave best wishes to all the people present at the ceremony. Rahul Gandhi welcomed him and other guests.

After the Iftar, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Good food, friendly faces and splendid dialogue make it a memorable Iftar. Two former President Pranab da and Pratibha Patil and leaders of many parties, media, diplomats and many old and new friends joined.

At the same time, the minor minority affairs minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, danced on the iftar party given by Rahul Gandhi. He said that iftar of the Congress president is for political gain. Naqvi said, ‘Rahul Gandhi is organizing Iftar for political gain. However, I am giving it to the people who are solemn. Well, we are not competing with them in any way.
