For the best use of modern technology to empower the Gram Panchayats, the National Rural Development Department has been honored by the National e-Panchayat Award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Village Development Minister Pankaja Munde today accepted this award in the Panchayat Raj Day program held at Mandla, Madhya Pradesh. The 15 Gram Panchayatis of 2 taluka Panchayat Samiti and Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad were honored by the Prime Minister at the hands of the Prime Minister.

Today, Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment Award and Nanaji Deshmukh National Gaurav Gram Sabha Award was distributed on the occasion of Panchayat Das in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Mandla in Madhya Pradesh. The program was attended by Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Panchayat Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of State Parashottam Rupala etc.

National e-Panchayat Award for Rural Development Department

The Rural Development Department of Maharashtra was honored with the National e-Panchayat Award. This award was given about the use of modern technology to empower rural Panchayats. This award was given under the Digital India program through the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Sikkim has received the first prize in this category and the other is given by Orissa State.

Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad Award

The Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad was honored with the Day Dayal Upadhyaya Panchayat Empowerment Award, whereas Bhandara Taluka Panchayat and Goregaon Taluka Panchayat Samities of Gondia district were also honored with this award. Day Dayal Upadhyaya Panchayat Empowerment Award was given to 14 Gram Panchayats in Maharashtra.

In this, Ganngaon and Ekrukhe in Gadchiroli district, Sadololi and Kameri of Sangli district, Avalgaon and Babrala in Chandrapur district, Metagutad and Shivtar in Satara district, Ottur in Kolhapur district, Bokalkar of Nandurbar district, Koloshi in Sindhudurg district, Barbadi in Wardha district and Village Panchayats of Bhandara district. Oatur Gram Panchayats in Ajara taluka of Kolhapur district have been honored with the Nanaji Deshmukh Gaurav Gram Sabha Award.
