14 July :- Twitter’s action on the fake account has caused a huge reduction in the number of followers of many Indian leaders. The twin governments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor have been hit by the twitter campaign launched against the fake account. In just one day, the number of followers on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal tweet handle has decreased by 2 lakh 84 thousand 746. On July 12, Modi had 4 crore 33 lakh 83 thousand 525 followers on Twitter. Today, on July 13 this number is 4 crore 30 lakh 9 thousand 77 9. On their official PMO India tweet handles, the number of 1 lakh 40 thousand 635 followers has come down.
In the follow up of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, there has also been a decrease of 1 51 thousand 509. BJP’s 40 thousand 787 and Congress 15 thousand 731 followers have come down. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has lost 20 thousand followers. They had 72 lakh 40 thousand followers, now the number is 72 lakh 20 thousand.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s 74 thousand and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s 92 thousand followers have come down. The Twitter campaign has affected not only the Indian politicians but also the American politicians. US President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama have also suffered.
