Srinagar: 25 June :- The separatists have called off in Kashmir Valley today. Normal life has affected the valley due to the shutdown. On the other hand, a large number of security forces have been deployed in the valley and sensitive areas. Separatist group Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), under the chairmanship of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, in protest against the killing of civilians in the valley, has called for a comprehensive shutdown in the valley. A civilian, Ahmad Dar, died on Sunday in a clash with security forces during the anti-terrorism campaign in Kulgam district, while Shahid Hazam, who was injured in Srigufwada area of Anantnag last week, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Police and paramilitary forces were deployed in the old city and Srinagar areas. Shops, public transport, other commercial establishments and educational institutions are closed in Srinagar city and other district headquarters of the valley. Rail services between Baramulla and Banihal towns were postponed. Internet services have also been banned in the South Kashmir region. Let us tell you that the governor’s rule is in Jammu and Kashmir right now. However, despite the Governor’s rule, there has been no reduction in terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Sunday, the attackers were attacked by the terrorists who were ambushed by a troop of troops on patrol in Kulgam. DGP SP Vaidya of Jammu and Kashmir tweeted that two of the three terrorists were killed in the encounter, while one terrorist surrendered. According to the police, ammunition and weapons were recovered from the third terrorist. One of the slain terrorists could be a divisional commander of Shakur Dar Lashkar. Earlier, militants attacked the security forces patrol vehicle, after which the encounter started. (Input – INAS)
