Journalist J. Day Chhota Rajan, the leader of the organized crime cell, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the murder case. Nine persons, including Chhota Rajan, have been given life imprisonment.
Meanwhile, former journalist Jigna Vora was acquitted. Besides, Paulson Joseph, who is accused of providing a SIM card, has also been acquitted. The special MCOCA court in Mumbai gave the decision. During the hearing, Chhota Rajan was present in the court through video conferencing.
Nine people were convicted of Satish Kalya, Abhijeet Shinde, Arun Dake, Sachin Gaikwad, Anil Waghmode, Nilesh Shendge, Mangesh Agnav, Vinod Asrani and Deepak Sisodia. The prosecutor had attacked the fourth column of the society because it demanded that the rarest case should be considered for maximum punishment.
On June 11, 2011, when he was going to Powai residence on Day Two, he was fired upon. Due to the injuries sustained in five tablets, the last person breathed his last at Hiranandani Hospital. The crime was started by the Mumbai crime branch. It was clear from this investigation that Dey was murdered by the threatening conspiracy of the conspiracy gangster Chhota Rajan.
Later, Satish Thangappan Joseph alias Satish Kale and his accomplices who were shot dead in the day were arrested. Out of their investigation, 12 accused, directly or indirectly cooperating, for this massacre, were sent off the goons. It included journalist Jigna Vorcha. An FIR has been registered against 13 accused in the JD Dera murder case, one of them died and the other is absconding.
Before the death, Dey made a note of ‘Ragged Rages to Riches’ book. Rajan had ordered the murder of Satish Kale, after being informed that he would defame De-book from the book and could cause danger from the rival gang through Dey.
Satish Kalya, Anil Wagmode, Abhijeet Shinde, Nilesh Shhedge, Arun Doke, Mangesh Agawane and Sachin Gaikwad were directly involved in the murder of Day. Rajan’s childhood friend Vinod Asrani alias Vinod Chembur confirms De’s identity in Muluma’s Huma Palace Bar. Paulson Joseph and Ravi Ratters provided global SIM cards to the accused, provided financial assistance. The crime branch alleged that Jigna had done the job of hurling Rajan’s head against Daya. After the arrest of Rajan, the murder of the other accused was investigated by the Central Investigation Department.
