Senior counsel Indu Malhotra will become the judge of the Supreme Court. The first woman to be a judge from a senior lawyer in the Supreme Court will be the first woman in the country. The Law Ministry has approved the proposal to appoint them as a judge. It is expected that Indu Malhotra will take oath next week.

In the country, women are presently in a state of atrocity. The whole atmosphere is stirred. But this performance of Indu Malhotra is a positive news for women. So it is important to see now whether women get justice right.

Indu Malhotra’s file was assigned to the Intelligence Bureau for appointment to this post. Before appointing a person for a constitutional post, the intelligence and personal integrity are checked by the Intelligence Bureau. In addition to this, the IEB also reports to the government about the charges and allegations against them.

After the complete inspection, the file of Indu Malhotra by IEB was sent to the Law Ministry and after the approval of the Prime Minister’s Office, the ministry has also approved the post.

Meanwhile, the college had suggested three months ago to appoint chief justice of the Uttarakhand High Court KM Joseph and senior lawyer Indu Malhotra as the apex court judge. But no decision has been taken yet on Joseph’s appointment. But since Indu Malhotra is elected as the Judge of the state, the good wishes are received from all levels.
