22 May :- Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the friendship between the two countries as the relationship between India and Russia has reached the level of special strategic partnership. Modi has gone on a trip to Russia, on Monday he met Russian President Vladimir Putin at Sochi. At that time, he said this.

Putin welcomed Modi before a meeting of the two countries at Sochi. Both leaders discussed informally. The purpose of this meeting is to create consensus on world-wide issues using friendship and trust from both the countries.

Modi’s meeting will highlight the relations between the two countries. There is great cooperation in the defense ministries of the two countries. It shows your high level of strategic partnership, Putin said. Putin appreciated the work of both the countries in the United Nations, BRICS Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Also mention the growing trade between India and Russia.

The discussions are expected in this regard in response to the US sanctions imposed on Russia and its withdrawal from Iran. Iran is India’s third largest mineral oil supplier. In addition, India has made big investments in Chabahar Harbor in Iran. Both of these issues may affect the US policy. This meeting can be discussed in order to play a role to face it.
