Earlier, batting first, India were 213 for 4 in 20 overs and set a target of 214 for Ireland to win. Lokesh Rahul played for 70 runs in 36 balls for Team India. He made 3 fours and 6 sixes in his 36-ball innings.

Rahul shared a 106-run partnership with Raina in the second wicket. Suresh Raina also batted brilliantly and scored 69 runs in 45 balls. He scored 5 boundaries and three sixes in his innings. Rahul completed his half century in 28 balls by hitting six on the first ball of the 11th over. Raina completed his fifth T20 fifty by hitting the fifth ball of the 15th over. Raina shared 41 runs for the fourth wicket with Manish Pandey (21 not out).

In the end overs, Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs in 9 balls. Pandya hit four sixes and one four. Pandya reached the fastest run across India by 200 runs. Manish Pandey scored 21 runs in 20 balls and returned unbeaten with Pandya.
