Between India and Afghanistan, the Super Cup match of the 2018 Asia Cup played in Dubai late last night was tied. Afghanistan had earlier scored a target of 253 for India against Mohammad Shahzad’s 124 and Mohammad Nabi’s 64 in the first innings. India were all out for 252 runs in 49.5 overs and ended up on the match tie.

India needed 7 runs to win in the last over and there was only one wicket in their hands. However, Rasid Khan, who came in to bowl in the last over, gave only six runs and got Jadeja’s wicket to put the Indian innings on 252 runs and the match got tie.

In the last over of Rashid, India needed seven runs to win. Jadeja brought India closer to victory with Razzak’s second ball on the boundary. Jadeja took a run on the next ball. Khalil Ahmed also took a run from the next ball, which meant that India had to score one run in the last two balls to win. Jadeja, however, played the fifth ball in the air and gave Zadran caught in the air and the match got tie.

In the final, India will face the winner of the match between Bangladesh and Pakistan on Wednesday, September 28.

For India, Lokesh Rahul scored 60 runs in 66 balls with five fours and a six. Ambati Rayudu scored 57 runs in 49 balls including four fours and six sixes. Dinesh Karthik scored 44 runs. Aftab Alam, Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan took two wickets each for Afghanistan.

Afridi made 252 runs off Shahzad :

After the storm of Mohammad Shahzad (124) in the lower order, Afghanistan made a target of 253 runs in front of India on the half century of Mohammad Nabi (64). Apart from Shahzad and Nabi, no other batsman from Afghanistan could do anything special and the team managed to score 252 runs at an average of eight wickets after playing the entire 50 overs.

The Indian bowlers were taking wickets from one side, but Shahzad was running his team’s scoreboard from the other end to the big shot. Afghanistan lost their first wicket as Javed Ahmadi on total score of 65.

Javed contributed only five runs in this score. Ahmadi was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja gave Rahmat Shah (3) out and gave India another success. He was dismissed for a total of 81.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, playing his 200th match as a captain after a run, stamped Hashmatullah Shahidi (0) on Kuldeep Yadav’s ball to give India a third success. On the next ball, Kuldeep sent Afghanistan captain Asgar Afghans without even opening the pavilion.

Shezad, standing at the other end, did not stop and he continued his game. In the meantime, Shahzad completed his fifth century in the 29th over, making his debut against Deepak Chahar in the 29th over.
