Earlier on Wednesday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted that the government will forgive the farmers’ debt according to their election promises and from here it will be hoping for the farmers of the whole country.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “On the eve of the Budget in Karnataka, I have full faith that the Congress-JDS government will fulfill our promise to waive the farmers’ debt and make farming work more profitable. He said, “This budget is like an opportunity for our government to make Karnataka a hope for the farmers of the entire country.”

Experts believe that the debt waiver of farmers will affect the state’s fiscal system. Earlier, the ruling Congress had waived debt of Rs 8,165 crore for farmers, which benefited 22,27,506 farmers. But the decision of the previous Congress government only benefited those farmers who borrowed loans from cooperative banks between 50,000 and 20 June 2017.
