The Cabinet approved the amendment in the Act of management of Sikh gurdwara at Nanded.
According to Section 61 of the Nanded Sikh Gurudwara Sachkhand Shri Hazur Apchalnagar Sahib Act, 1956, the Government has the power to make rules for the implementation of provisions of this Act. In section 6 (1) of this Act, there is a provision to appoint a total of 17 members through nomination or election, on the Gurudwara Board. According to Section 6 (1) (i) of this section, there are two members nominated by the Government. The existing provisions for nomination of 2 members from the Government have been modified on the Board. As per this amendment, the government has got the right to nominate eight members on board.
