21 July :- Indian men’s hockey team defeated New Zealand 3-1 in the second match and made an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-Test series. Rupinder Pal Singh (18th minute), SV Sunil (27th minute) and Mandeep Singh (56th) scored for India by goals. In the 24th minute, Stephen Janesz scored the only goal from New Zealand. India defeated New Zealand 4-2 in the first match played on Thursday.
India already showed offensive games in the quarter. Striker SV Sunil attacked the goal in the first minute, but New Zealand goalkeeper Richard Joyce did not let them succeed. India got two penalty corners in the first quarter but one goal could not be scored.

In the second quarter, India got three penalty corners in the 18th minute and Rupinder scored the third goal. A minute later, Sunil made another penalty corner, but this time the variation was unsuccessful.
In the 24th minute for New Zealand, Jennes scrambled to equalize PR Sreejesh. India came back three minutes later, when Sunil made the second goal with the help of Simranjeet Singh. India had made 2-1 by the end of the second quarter.

There was no goal in the third quarter. India scored the third goal in the last quarter when Mandeep, in the 56th minute, got the ball inside the goal from Sunil.
