Mumbai : 01 June :- Farmers’ strike started in the state. Farmers have been on strike for 10 days from today. According to the declaration made by the National Farmers Federation, the farmers of the state will be on strike till June 10. No merchandise will be offered to the farmers during this period. Farmers are on strike for the full debt waiver, electricity bills, and half of the cost of production for agricultural produce.
As the strike started, the farmers started to stop commodity carts in various parts. Thousands of liters of milk were protested against the Khed-Shivapur Tollnaka by the government. The workers of National Kisan Mahasangha dumped milk tank and poured milk on the road. This type of incident happened around 2.45 in the night. Today, farmers will be on the roads in various parts of the state. A rally of Kisan Mahasabha will start at 11 am in Kolhapur.
