ENG vs BEL: Belgium defeated England 1-0

29 June :- Belgium defeated England 1-0 in their final Group G match at the FIFA World Cup late on Thursday. With this victory, Belgium finished on top with nine points, while England had to be content with the second run. Both teams have already qualified for the pre-quarterfinals.

For the match played at the Kalingrad Stadium, both the teams made many changes and gave chance to the young players, who got a tough competition from the start of the match.

In the ninth minute of the match, Belgian midfielder Maruan Felleni placed the header in the box and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford tried to catch the ball, but the ball got out of his foot. However, veteran defender Gary Cahill did not let the ball go into the goal.

Three minutes later, England’s Trent Alexander Arnold gave a brilliant cross on the corner, on which Cihill managed to get the header but could not give his team an early lead.

After the initial boom, the two teams tried to make control of the ball. In the 27th minute, Belgium got the first corner in the match on which Alexander Arnold saved his team from being lagging behind.

England got free-kick in the 34th minute and this time Alexandra Arnold gave a brilliant cross but midfielder Ruben Loftus could not score the score with header.

In the second half England were quick and in the 48th minute striker Marcus Rashford attempted to score from the left end. However, he could not put the ball in the goal.

Belgian midfielder Yuri Tilmens in the 51st minute of the match, Adnan Yanujay on the right side, while defending the defender inside the box, gave a 1-0 lead to his team by scoring a fine goal from his left foot.

After lagging behind a goal, England came in with aggression in their game. England’s Rashford got the best chance to score a goal in the 66th minute. Rashford got the ball out of Belgium’s box and he only had to spell out the opposition team’s goalkeeper Thibot Curtua, but he could not do that.

Despite Rashford’s unsuccessful attempts, England continued their offensive game to score a match that gave Belgium an opportunity to double their lead in the final moments of the match. However, Pickford did not let the gap difference increase.
