New Delhi: 29 June :- The Delhi High Court has stayed the strike of 9,000 workers of the metro from tomorrow. The court has issued a notice and sought the response from striking workers. Regardless of the order of the court, if the Metro staffers go on strike then the case of contempt of court will also go on. The High Court’s decision will provide relief to those 20 lakh passengers who travel daily through the metro.

Earlier, Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had said that proper demands of the Metro workers will be treated, but if the striking staff of the Metro does not return to work, then they can take ESMA. The government uses the Essential Services Management Act, which is to stop the strike. If the government enforces this law, then after the government employee continues the strike or does not provide services, it will be treated as illegal and can be punished in this way. It can be applied for a maximum of six months.

Labor did not come out of commission
After negotiations with the Labor Commissioner failed, 9000 employees of Delhi Metro decided to go on strike today. There is no statement of DMRC yet to run the Metro on the verdict of the workers’ strike. Before the Labor Commissioner, the DMRC also met with talk of metro workers.

These 9,000 workers on strike include 900 train operators running the Metro, 1,000 station controllers / station in-charge, 5000 maintenance technicians and around 2000 supervisors.
