Though the use of social media has increased, no system of their rule is currently in existence in India. In particular, Facebook, Snooper, is often used for offensive, defamatory language against women. Pornographic statements are made against women. The State Women’s Commission has decided to organize a conference on national level for awareness about this, along with the introduction of ‘Cyber desk’ to prevent such incidents.
The committee, set up by the commission, to hold anti-women forms of the society, has met the first meeting on Tuesday. Presidents of Prashant Mali, Vaishali Bhagwat, Sonali Patankar, Mukta Chaitanya, who were working on cyber security in the meeting chaired by State Women’s Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar and cyber experts in the police force were present. Discrimination is going on in women’s media debates. Regarding this, the Women’s Commission established the Expert Committee.
Although there are cyber laws, cyber cell in the country, it does not have much use in order to prevent malpractices from the social media. It is not clear what mechanism should be done to prevent this malpractices. In addition, experts say that companies like Facebook and Snutter are saying that they are abroad, they call on government agencies. Therefore, it was decided to organize a conference at the national level for public awareness about the establishment of a special cyber desk. In addition, a committee formed to suggest the necessary measures in this regard has been decided to submit regular reports in three months and submit the report in three months.
