The BJP has announced a 12-hour Bengal shutdown today. The shutdown has been called for protesting the death of two students who have been protesting against the appointment of teachers in Islampur area. Two students were killed in police firing during the agitation. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has set up control rooms to ease the shutdown, while around 4,000 police personnel have been deployed in the streets. State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has accused the BJP of blocking the development.

“If anybody attempts to do violence during the shutdown, the police will take strict action against them. Party workers have been asked to remain alert and are keeping an eye on the situation. It has been said that if someone tries to inspire, then do not react to it. “If the situation goes out of control, the police have been ordered to take action,” he said.

On the other hand BJP has accused the state government of trying to thwart this shutdown. There has been tension between the BJP and Trinamool Congress in West Bengal for some time now. During the agitation, the BJP workers stopped the train in Nadnaghat area. Some trains were stopped at this time.

Supporters of Cooch Behar have broken the government bus. In many places, the trains have been stopped and the government buses have been set on fire. A government bus was set on fire in Midnapore.

BJP leader Rahul Sinha has said that the state government has insulted the constitution and it has been called off against him. We are getting people support.
