Bengaluru:13 June :- In Karnataka, the BJP has again suffered a setback. The Congress won by defeating BJP in the by-election by the Jaynagar assembly seat of the state. Congress candidate Soumya Reddy won with 2,889 votes. Due to the BJP candidate’s death, last month, in the state assembly elections on May 12, there was no voting on this seat. After the victory, Soumya Reddy said that the people of the opposition party have also helped him in this election. Soumya Reddy is the daughter of state minister Ramalinga Reddy, who was MLA from Jaynagar seat for the last four terms.
Ramalinga said, “I have represented this seat in the last four times, this time the party high command had entrusted this responsibility to my daughter, I had hoped to win with more votes, yet I am not disappointed, this is a victory Is. ”

Let me tell you that voting was done on this seat on Monday. At present the Congress-JDS coalition government is in the state. JDS did not field its candidate while supporting Congress. However, in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar seat, the two parties had raised their candidature. The Congress won from here also.
Because of the death of BJP candidate BN Vijaykumar last month, elections were not held on May 12 in this constituency. Instead of Vijaykumar, this time, BJP had raised his brother, BN Prahalad Babu. A total of 19 candidates were trying their luck on this seat. However, the Baji is in the hands of the Congress.
