Sindhu, who had beaten Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in the semifinals, was expected to give a tough fight to Tai Taiyi’s Tai Tsu Ying in the final round. In the first set, Sindhu was shocked, Ying quickly earned 5 points and hit Sindhu on the backfoot. Sindhu made a comeback in the set in time, but she did not succeed in reducing Ying’s lead. By the end of the day, Ying had taken 11-7 lead. After an interval, Sindhu tried to make a comeback, but Ying won the first set with a 21-13 difference.
