Indian veteran shooter Heena Sidhu won the bronze medal in the women’s 10 meter air rifle event of Asian Games. While young shooter Manu Bhakker was once again disappointed and he stayed in fifth position. When only three shooters were left in the match, Heena was successful in targeting the perfect 10.8. But in the next target he could score 9.6 points and he had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.

There was a distance of only 0.1 points between Heena and Gold Medal winner. He scored 219.3 points in the final. In the qualification round, Heena was once at 13th and 17th position, but after getting the rhythm she did not look back and climbed up in the table. Gold medal winner of the Commonwealth Games was a disappointing day for Manu, 16. She finished the finals while finishing fifth with 176.2 points.
The tournament was won by Wang Qian of China, who scored 240.3, which is a new record for these games. South Korea’s Kim Minjung won the silver medal with 237.6 points. This is the second consecutive competition, when Manu performed brilliantly in the clayfication, but missed the final. The Haryana player made the record of these games in the qualification of the 25 meter pistol event and he finished third in the qualification.
Heena, who won gold twice in the World Cup, was ranked seventh with 571 points, while Manu was at number three with 574 points.
