Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana MP Raju Shetty has launched a milk movement across the state demanding that every rupee five-liter subsidy be deposited directly into the milk producer’s account. The activists of the organization have become aggressive in various parts of the state and at Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Pune and Amravati, the workers of the district have broken milk tankers and distributed milk on the road. In some places, they threw milk bags on the streets. The organization is trying to break milk supply to Mumbai. On the other hand, the government is also trying to break the agitation. Many activists were arrested and released on Sunday by giving them a notice. Shetty has expressed dissatisfaction over this. Knowing this backdrop, the farmers have appealed not to participate in this agitation.
Raju Shetty left for Mumbai on Tuesday morning by dugdhhishek at Dagaduheth Ganpati in Pune. After that, the movement of milk started. In the meantime, collection of Gokul Milk Federation of Kolhapur was closed today. District collector B. Radhakrishna said that 15 tankers of milk were sent to Mumbai under the protection of milk from Nashik.
Meanwhile, opposition protesters protested against the movement of the legislature during the session. Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said that Raju Shetty’s milk campaign will be forwarded to Congress in support of the Congress. NCP and Shiv Sena have also supported this protest with Congress.
