Indian women’s hockey team, which boosted their confidence after finishing their last round of 20 years, will play against Japan on Friday in the final of the Asian Games. This will be the opportunity to finish the gold medal drought after 36 years of waiting. At the same time, the challenge of making a positive game without the suppression of the unexpected loss of the men’s team will be a challenge for the Indian women.

The bronze-medalist of the previous tournament, India defeated China 1-0 in the semi-finals on Wednesday, after 20 years in the Asian final. Earlier, the Indian team, which played the last match in 1998, Bangkok Asia, was defeated by Korea. India won the only gold, in 1982 in Delhi Asia Till now, five medals of gold, one silver and three bronze medals have been recorded in India’s account for nine times.
Seeing world rankings as well as the performance of this tournament, the ninth-ranked India is considered to be the strongest contender for the winners against Japan at 14th position. Like the men’s team, the Indian women team has astonished everyone. The team did not have a single defeat. Indonesia registered 8-0, Kazakhstan 21-0, Korea 4-1 and Thailand 5-0. The defense of the Indian team is also excellent.
Indian captain Rani Rampal expressed his desire to get a gold in the 2020 Olympics and win a gold medal. Involved in aggressive batting, Vandana Katariya and Rani are the two, while both have scored 39 goals in five matches.
