The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains with thunderstorms today in 13 states of the country.
Precautions have been made in the states of the East and Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab in northern India.
Due to the possibility of storm surge, the Haryana government has announced holiday today and tomorrow for private and government schools.
Four days back, more than 127 people were killed by dust storms in western Uttar Pradesh.
Which states are alerted?
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts to the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
There is a possibility of hailstorm along with winds of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. But in Punjab, Haryana, it is again predicted to have windfall. In the next 48 to 72 hours in Punjab, light rainfall and storm can occur.
There are signs of dust storm in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, citizens are not afraid to take care but take care, appealed the Climate Department.
